Meet Nelson

Meet Nelson!

Nelson is from San Marcos, Guatemala and as a minor in 2019 began his journey to the United States looking for safety and refuge. While detained by DHS, Nelson turned 18 years old and was transferred to and adult prison in Eloy, Arizona for a year and a half.

During his detainment, Salvavision supported Nelson by writing letters of encouragement and supported Nelson with financial support that covered private attorneys legal fees.

Sadly, Nelson lost his asylum case and was deported back to his home country where he immediately had to relocate to a new town in order to keep safe and keep away from the original danger he left in the first place.

To support Nelson get re-acclimated within his community, Nelson is part of Salvavision’s Artisan Support Program. Nelson is a talented artist who creates amazing hand-made bracelets. When you purchase a bracelet by Nelson, all proceeds go straight back to Nelson helping him continue his education and create additional income for him and his family.
